Exploring Yunnan – The "Cloudy Land of the South" in China
In November 2024, after an exhilarating "company trip to Binh Thuan province," Rita continues its journey abroad to China. This trip is dedicated to 12 outstanding employees who have made significant contributions recently. The six-day, five-night trip explores three famous destinations in Yunnan province: Lijiang, Dali, and Shangri-La. The participants come from departments such as Human Resources, Sterilization, Accounting, Procurement, Lab, Filling, Maintenance, Warehouse, QC, and Production.
This trip allows the Rita family to discover new places, take in stunning views, immerse in local traditions, enjoy authentic cuisine, and experience the culture firsthand. Now, let's explore the unforgettable moments from this adventure!
Dali
Dali ancient city continues to enchant visitors with its timeless charm, centuries-old architecture, and traditional cultural heritage. The weathered streets and traditional houses seem to tell stories of the past. On the other hand, the locals' warm and welcoming spirit makes everyone feel right at home.
A highlight of the trip was the peaceful bike ride around the breathtaking Erhai Lake, celebrated as one of China's "Four Great Scenic Wonders." As we bike along the lakeshore, a gentle autumn breeze brought a sense of tranquility. It is the perfect moment to pause, breathe deeply, and let the serene beauty of the landscape wash away everyday stresses, creating a cherished memory for everyone.
Shangri-La
Goodbye, Dali; we visit Shangri-La, which an English author described as the "Land of Immortality." In Tibetan language, Shangri-La means the place of destiny and good fortune. Shangri-La is famous for its breathtaking scenery, unique Tibetan culture, and its people's harmonious lifestyle. We have the opportunity to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge hike, the Dukezong ancient city, Napahai Lake, and Songzanlin Monastery, which is often compared to a smaller version of Tibet's Potala Palace. We also visit the Yak Museum. Yak has long hair and long horns, domesticated about 10,000 years ago, and played a crucial role in Tibetan life.
Lijiang
The third place of this journey was Lijiang, one of the most beautiful ancient cities in China, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997. Shuhe Old Town is the heart of Lijiang, with nearly a thousand traditional houses and charming cobblestone streets. We also have the chance to savor the famous "Crossing the Bridge Noodles." Watching snow at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was an unforgettable experience for Vietnamese travelers. Standing 5,596 meters tall, the mountain is covered in snow year-round. The beauty of Lijiang is like that of a graceful young woman, leaving a lasting impression on the heart that lingers long after a brief visit.
